How Much is My M37 'Tanker' Worth?

The M37 'Tanker' is a belt-fed .30-06 machine gun developed as a tank-mounted alternative to the Browning 1919. Its unique left- or right-hand feed capability made it especially useful in armored vehicle applications.

Curious about how much your M37 'Tanker' heavy machine gun is worth? Whether you’re looking to sell or simply understand current pricing, we’ll help you assess the market value of your firearm.

About the M37 'Tanker'

The M37 would enter service in 1955 and would be issued as the primary medium machine gun in M48 and M50 Patton tanks. Built as a more adaptable replacement for the M1919 in armored roles, the M37 featured dual-feed options and could be fired manually, or from a solenoid fire control unit. Lighter versions, such as the M37C, would be mounted in helicopter gunships. Due to the US military’s replacement of the .30-06 cartridge for the new 7.62mm NATO round, some variants of the M37 (M37E1) would be converted to the new cartridge as a stop-gap measure. Ultimately, the M37 would be replaced by the M73 in 1959. Most transferable examples are post-war sideplate builds using a mix of surplus parts.
